Riverbend Crocodile Farm – Southbroom
Visitors can get up close to fascinating reptiles and see the beautiful, landscaped surroundings. The enclosures are home not only to crocodiles but also to a variety of birdlife.
The Education Centre has more info about crocodiles , and enjoy the daily crocodile feeding at 15:00. Snake House demonstrations take place at 14:50 on Sundays, and some Wednesdays. There is also Wine & Art Gallery. January to mid-March, visitors can witness adorable crocodile hatchlings.

Has one of the largest varieties of snakes and reptiles on the Southern Hemisphere. We also have a selection of exotic birds and a farm animal petting zoo. We host kiddies birthday parties and travel to schools and businesses for demonstrations. We have a small curio shop with cold drinks and snacks. Beaver Creek Coffee Estate – Izingolweni Road, Port Edward, 4295
Visitors to the estate can sample coffee and purchase the range of freshly roasted Beaver Creek coffee and other coffees of the world. The estate also offers visitors a daily crop to cup tour that outlines the distinctive flavours of the worlds coffee regions and the processes involved in creating the perfect cup. The Estate Cafe serves delicious meals and a range of freshly roasted coffee all day.The Estate Cafe is open daily from 8am till 4pm everyday and is closed only on Christmas Day. The daily tour starts at 12 noon, booking is essential in holiday season so please contact us.
Uvongo Flea Market – Uvongo
The town of Uvongo on the KwaZulu Natal Hibiscus Coast has had a flea market for the past 19 years (run by the Rotary Club) and it is still serving the community every Saturday & Sunday morning! (weather permitting). There are 160 stalls to choose from and you can buy almost anything from fresh fruit and vegetabless, meat, cheese, clothing, toys and games and second hand bits and bobs.
An open air tea room provides a wonderful area to relax with friends for a weekly catch up while enjoying a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake.
Mpenjati Reserve – Palm Beach
Offers hikers an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of scenic walking trails along the splendid beaches and rivers teaming with the bountiful animal life, vegetation and rock formations.
It also has 2 picnic sites on each bank of the Mpenjati River with braai & fishing areas, ablution blocks and a popular children’s playground.
Gates are open from 06h00 to 18h00 in summer (October to March) and from 07h00 to 17h00 in winter (April to September).
The Red Desert -Maurice Rd, Rennies Beach, Port Edward
is the smallest desert in the world, and is situated in the otherwise tropical greenery of Port Edward, near Margate. At just 200 metres wide, the rich red of this arid landscape stands out against the jade of the local vegetation.
The cause of these desert conditions remains unknown. Theories range from extraterrestrial interference to overgrazing. Whatever the reason behind it, the Red Desert Nature Conservation Area is aesthetically beautiful and interesting to explore.
Oribi Gorge
The famous adventure capital of the KZN South Coast.
Oribi Gorge offers unforgettable scenic views, which can be accessed via multiple viewing points around the area, including the famous overhanging Leopard Rock.
The Wild Swing: Leap off the edge of Lehr’s Waterfall in what is known as the highest gorge swing of its kind in the world.

Lake Eland Game Reserve
is a 5000 acre scenic reserve in Oribi Gorge located a 40-minute drive inland from Port Shepstone. It features diverse ecosystems, wildlife like giraffe and eland, an 80m suspension bridge, and a thrilling zipline tour.

Oribi Vulture Viewing Hide
Overlooks a feeding station and breeding colony of over 100-200 Wild Cape Vultures.It offers 2-hour guided, eye-level cliff viewing and photography experiences. Advance booking is strictly required as the site is private property.
